Bentwater Ladies Golf Association held their Mini-Member/Member
Tournament on Feb. 15 on the beautiful Miller Course. All
participants were able to finish the round despite the off and on
again rain. Fun was had by all, especially the
winners.

treat this coming week at the monthly luncheon with a performance by
local artist, Isaac Satterwhite. Isaac's day job is VP Operations
for Coupling Specialties and his night job is "father of Jacob" and
country singer. He says he was born with a God-given voice and his
first public performance was in a church quartet at the age of nine.
When he was 13, his family moved from his hometown of Gilmer to
Houston where he became involved in a very large youth choir at the
First Baptist Church. He had numerous solo parts, sang in quartets
and ensembles and, on two occasions, traveled with this group on
tours of Europe and Great Britain. The next 20 plus years were spent
in the oil industry but he continued to be a guest singer at various
functions that included churches, weddings and reunions. At the
"ripe old age" of 42 he decided it was time to get his life together
and found the heart to put into his songs. He is presently in high
demand and a featured singer at the local opry houses in and out of
this area. His debut album is currently under production and should
be ready for release soon. Isaac's goals are to become Country
Music Awards Vocalist of the Year and to be the best dad his sons
could ever hope for. It just may not be too late to get a
reservation for the luncheon so you can say you saw him in person
before seeing him accepting his award on television. It's almost
time for The Friendship Center's 14th Annual Fish Fry in Memory of
Vernon Bowers. On March 7 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. you can get a
delicious meal of the famous catfish fillets, coleslaw, potato
salad, tomato relish and dessert for only $10 each. Proceeds from
this event are used to provide meals, transportation and other
essential services for senior adults throughout Montgomery
County. For an order of five or more lunches you can have them
delivered to your place of business by local politicians and
celebrities. For a sit-down meal, you can go to Vernon's Kuntry
Katfish on Texas 105 or the South County Community Center at 2235
Lake Robbins Drive in The Woodlands. Either of these locations will
also handle take-out orders. Credit card orders may be faxed to
(936) 539-2981 or call in your order to Crystal Hester at (936)
756-5828. Just get your orders in by March 4 and enjoy that
delicious catfish for a good cause.
